5 THINGS TO BOOST YOUR METABOLISM AND HAVE AN ACTIVE DAY

Work, exercise and a social life can sometimes be an uphill task. So, trying to stay healthy while keeping to a tight schedule can sometimes seem impossible. 

The first goal to keeping a healthy body is sleep. At least 6-8 hours a night of uninterrupted sleep has so many benefits and I will talk about another time.  

Our productivity is affected by our bodies metabolism. So, boosting our metabolism has a positive effect on our productivity. This makes sense, right? When you boost your metabolism and your productivity increases you get more done. And with the increase in efficiency and effectiveness you then have that free time that you are always looking for to do the things that make you happy. 

Below are 5 simple easy-to-do tips on how to boost your metabolism and increase productivity. 

1. Drink a cold one

Ok so it’s not what you are thinking. When I say a cold one I am talking about water. When you wake up before you have breakfast or your morning coffee drink 1 glass of water which will give your metabolism the kick starts it needs. And in doing this it will carry on through the day. Not to mention it is a great way to get in 1 of your 8 recommended glasses of water per day.

 

2. Lift things

Again, this is something to do before you have had your first meal. Lift. By doing weights in the morning before you have had your first meal will get your bodies system up and running. It will allow for a more efficient use of the food and avoid fat build up. However, make sure you do not go overboard with the weight lifting. Always take note of the weight you are lifting and go to your capabilities.

 

3. Good morning fruit

You may have heard the old proverb ‘an apple a day, keeps the doctor away’? or you may have had your mum/dad putting fruit in your lunch box and then getting cranky at you when it was still in there when you go home from school! The reason for this is fruit plays a vital; role in keeping your body healthy. Fruit contains a plethora of vitamins and minerals that help energize your body.

 

4. Go herbal

The fat and starch ingested not only end up as excess fat but also end up making you feel lethargic; you get tired and lose productivity throughout the day. So herbal teas can help you stay energised, help with digestion, mentally alert, feel revitalised and many other great benefits. They are full of antioxidants which are reported to combat the negative effects of free radicals on our bodies cells.

5. Switch to coconut oil

Research has shown that coconut oil contains medium chain fats which are the good fats. While every day cooking oil is rich in long chain fats which make you feel drowsy and slow down your metabolism. Coconut oil has been found to boost the body’s metabolism by at least 15%.
